Founded in 2009 in Germany, this application is market leader amongst all taxi-apps. Its founders Niclaus Mewes & Sven Külper will transform the concept of how to book your taxi across the globe.

I am still astonished because the service is so superb, so unique and there are more and more cities you can get it now. With offices in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain & Poland I am truly grateful to be able to use it in Barcelona.

I will try to describe my personal experience and then you can decide how often you will use this sensational app.

Available for all smartphones except Blackberrys ( The fact is that  still I own my BB 9860 and it is not available. I know, but still I have a small percentage of love attached to Blackberry, unbelievable but true) Fortunately I have my Company´s smartphone  so I am able to use  this app.

Ok so, If you are at home, your office, your Hotel or Luxury Apartment , restaurant or on the street in Barcelona just follow these instructions:

Download mytaxi app  and click on your MYTAXI. Sign in and set up all your general requirements like:

• Pay with a credit card or cash ( soon you will be able to pay with your smartphone)
• Do you prefer a ecologic car?
• Do you prefer a VIP car or a traditional Taxi?, and more…

After that, if you need a taxi just click on the application and the system will locate where you are. Maybe there is a difference of one street away so you can edit the right address where you are at that time.

Then, you select where you want to go and click for your request.

Hundred of taxis will be shown on your screen and one of them will accept your request.

You can calculate fare and track taxi’s approach live on the map.

Once the taxi driver has accepted your request, you will be able to see his/her picture, his/her name, phone and license number. This is like a dream come true specially when you travel to cities and don´t know how much will be the cost and how safe will be your trip. But also if you live in a city and you need a premium basic service.

The taxi driver called me and asked me where I was exactly. I saw him approaching to my location because I was able to see his route on my phone. He greeted me and he drove me to the place. Also, on my mobile I was able to see the route he took to drive me there.

At the end I paid with my credit card and the app sent me a request to evaluate the service and the driver, with the option to select him to my favorite drivers. I have booked for friends who are staying in Barcelona and they have to go back to their hotels. You can check this video

You can book the service in advance and set up the time you want to be picked up. You can do it through your mobile or your laptop.
