The sport
What is padel?
Padel is a racket sport that mixes tennis and squash: played in doubles on an enclosed glass court about a third of the size of a tennis court, with walls you can play the ball off. It's easy to learn, hard to put down — and it's the fastest-growing racket sport in the world.

The basics
The court
20 by 10 metres, enclosed by glass walls and fencing. The walls are in play — like squash — which keeps rallies going much longer.
The racket
Solid with holes, no strings, shorter than a tennis racket. Much easier to control, which is why beginners rally within minutes.
The serve
Underarm, hit below waist height after one bounce. No aces blowing past you — every point starts as a real rally.
Scoring
Exactly like tennis: 15, 30, 40, game — sets of six games. If you can keep score in tennis, you can keep score in padel.
Padel vs tennis vs pickleball
Tennis players love padel because the scoring is identical but the learning curve is kinder — the smaller court and underarm serve mean less running and longer rallies from day one. Compared to pickleball, padel is faster and more dynamic, with lobs, smashes and wall play adding a tactical layer. Most importantly: padel is always doubles, which makes it the most social of the three.
FAQ
Is padel hard to learn?+
No — it's famously beginner-friendly. The racket is short and forgiving, the serve is underarm, and the walls keep the ball in play. Most new players are having real rallies within their first session.
How many people do I need?+
Padel is played in doubles, so four players is ideal. When you book a court at Padeluxe you can tell us how many players are coming.
What do I need to bring?+
Just sportswear and clean trainers. Rackets, balls and anything else you need are available at the Padeluxe pro shop when you arrive.
How long should I book for a first session?+
